Asante Kotoko Legends offer support to team amidst GPL struggles

Former players of Asante Kotoko made a poignant visit to the team’s training grounds on Tuesday, April 2nd.

The aim was clear: to offer guidance and motivation to the current squad amidst the club’s recent challenges on the pitch.

The timing couldn’t have been more crucial. As the revered club grapples with a rare downturn in form, enduring four consecutive matches without a win for the first time in 14 years, the visit from the veterans served as a beacon of hope and inspiration.

Ranked a modest 10th on the league table, Kotoko’s upcoming clash against Bechem United on Saturday, April 6th, holds significant importance.

The former players, including iconic figures like Malik Jabir, Opoku Nti, and the beloved “Black President” Sarfo Gyamfi, arrived to lend their unwavering support ahead of this pivotal fixture.

Sarfo Gyamfi, affectionately known by Kotoko faithful, shared his optimism during an interview on Agoro Fie on Onua TV the following day, April 3rd.

Expressing his confidence in the team’s potential for resurgence, Gyamfi bolstered morale by predicting a favorable outcome in the upcoming match.

“I know this weekend will be a good one for us,” Gyamfi asserted confidently, echoing the sentiments of hope shared among fans and players alike.

Moreover, Gyamfi addressed growing calls for the dismissal of head coach Dr. Prosper Nartey Ogum, urging patience and unity during this testing period.

“How can you sack a coach in the middle of the season?” Gyamfi questioned, advocating for steadfast support rather than rash decisions. “It is not advisable. What I feel is that we should all give him our support.”
